We’re thrilled to announce that Acceptance, our powerful music video featuring our learning-disabled rockstars alongside children from Sarratt C of E Primary School, has won two awards in the Smiley Charity Film Awards! Bronze in the judge’s awards, for our category, and Silver in the People’s Choice awards!
The video, created by Sam Clifford, is part of our Electric Umbrella Express digital learning resources and brings to life the song Acceptance, written by Tom Billington & Electric Umbrella, produced by Jo Webb and Tom Billington, and mixed by Jo Webb.
This recognition is a huge moment for us, as the Smiley Charity Film Awards celebrate films that inspire change and make a difference in the world. Acceptance is all about inclusion, breaking barriers, and embracing the power of music to bring people together—values that sit at the heart of everything we do at Electric Umbrella.
A Song That Shines a Light on Inclusion
Acceptance is one of seven incredible new music videos accompanying original songs from the Electric Umbrella Express album. Schools will be learning and performing these songs through our revamped digital learning resources (launching later in 2025), helping to create a more inclusive world through music.
Excitingly, Acceptance will also be performed live as part of our upcoming “Shine a Light” event at St Albans Cathedral—a moment that will bring together children, schools, and our incredible Electric Umbrella community.
