We had an incredible night at the Barratt Homes & David Wilson Homes North Thames Annual Charity Gala, held at the stunning Micklefield Hall—the same venue as our own “Music In Me” Gala two years ago.

The night raised an incredible £49,000 for us, taking the total raised by BDW to date up to an extraordinary £85,000, while our fabulous crew of learning disabled and professional musicians provided the nights entertainment from a welcoming percussion jam at the entrance, a musical parade into the dining room and table busking through the meal, to a full band set as the guests danced the night away to a set of Electric Umbrella songs and other classic favourites.

It was a night to remember!

Marc Woolfe, Sales and Marketing Director for Barratt North Thames, commented “We had the most amazing evening and weeks on, it is still the talk of the office. Many of our attendees said that this was the best charity evening they have ever attended and the band truly were “Electric”. We are so proud and grateful to all our attendees for the money raised and hope it helps your amazing charity!”

Mel Boda, Electric Umbrella CEO, added “We were privileged to have been chosen as Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes Charity of the Year. It has been very special to work with their team, and receive their incredible support. Performing at their gala was without doubt a highlight. The outstanding amount raised on the night will enable us to maintain and expand our programme over the year ahead, supporting both our learning disabled community and tens of thousands of school students and teachers  across the region. The evening also enabled everyone at BDW and across their wider community, to experience the Electric Umbrella magic first hand as our amazing crew of learning disabled rockstars and professional musicians provided the evening’s music. Nobody who danced the night away could have left the party with any doubt that there really is “no such thing as normal”.
