Every January 20th, schools, workplaces and communities come together to celebrate No Such Thing as Normal Day.

It’s a chance to embrace what makes us unique by ditching uniforms and dress codes and going all out with wacky outfits, bold hairstyles and show-stopping shoes. However you take part, it’s all about starting conversations, having fun and celebrating difference.

Join Our Interactive Workshop

Join us online on January 20th at 2pm for a half an hour of vibrant and uplifting music led by the Electric Umbrella team and our learning disabled members.

This inclusive music-making experience connects schools across the country, celebrating acceptance, individuality, and the joy of diversity.

2025: A Huge Success!

On January 20th 2025, thousands of students, teachers, and workplaces across the UK joined Electric Umbrella for No Such Thing As Normal Day—and what an incredible day it was!

With close to 10,000 participants, our online workshop was a vibrant celebration of music, individuality, and inclusion. Led by our learning disabled rockstars and professional musicians, the session filled screens across the nation with singing, laughter, and Electric Umbrella joy.

Schools and workplaces embraced the theme of individuality, ditching uniforms and dress codes for wacky wardrobes, heroic hairstyles, and show-stopping shoes! Together, we celebrated the message that there truly is no such thing as normal.

A massive thank you to everyone who took part and helped make this day unforgettable. Your participation and donations ensure we can continue our work empowering learning disabled people and fostering a more inclusive society.
